NEWS RELEASE: Cell Phones for Soldiers Phone Drive Results
DOKKEN-NELSON CELL PHONES FOR SOLDIERS PHONE DRIVE WILL PROVIDE MORE THAN 30,000 MINUTES OF TALK TIME FOR TROOPS More than 100 Phones Donated During Memorial Day “Match” Drive Bozeman, MONT. (June 8, 2012) Dokken-Nelson Funeral Service & Crematory today announced their Memorial Day Cell Phones for Soldiers phone drive will provide more than 30,000 minutes of talk time for our troops. Dokken-Nelson received more than 100 phones during the “match” drive—which will double the amount of talk time soldiers will receive from 15,000 minutes to 30,000 minutes. One May 23, Dokken-Nelson announced it would match the $5 value received for each phone—up to $1,000—for every cell phone donated between May 23 and Memorial Day on May 28. Dokken-Nelson then extended the drop off date through May 31 to give more people the opportunity to participate. “We are thrilled with our community’s support of the phone drive, and we are thankful for the opportunity to be able to help provide such a valuable resource for the men and women serving in our armed forces,” says Chris Remely, owner and funeral director at Dokken-Nelson Funeral Service & Crematory. “It’s a great way to come together as a community and make a difference.” Dokken-Nelson is an official collection site for Cell Phones for Soldiers Inc., and will continue to collect phones year round to send in. If you would like to donate a phone, please drop it by the office located at 113 South Willson Avenue in Bozeman. If you have questions please contact Dokken-Nelson at 587.3184.
