Genaah Schmautz

September 6, 1931 ~ March 06, 2013

Service: March 16, 2013 11:00 A.M.
   Location: Connect Church

Genaah Schmautz, 81, of Belgrade went to meet the Lord on March 6, 2013.

Genaah was born on Sept. 6, 1931 in Adrian, OR to Aunno and James Galloway.  She grew up in the Ellensburg Valley, WA and graduated high school there.  She received a call to the ministry and worked in children’s ministry until March 1, 1958 when she married Harvey Schmautz.  For the next 55 years, Genaah served as a minister’s wife and homemaker in Alberta, Washington, Idaho, Montana and Oregon.  She had two children Randal and Lynnea.

She became a grandmother to six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and she loved her family dearly.  She loved the outdoors, camping, working in her garden and taking walks.  Genaah never slowed down, even after being stricken with breast cancer in 2006.  She continued to serve her family and in her church until she was no longer able to in 2012. She treated people with great love and compassion and was loved by everyone who knew her.  She had a great faith in Jesus and has gone home where she will receive great reward.

Survivors include her husband, Harvey; her son, Randal and his wife, Julie; and her brother, Jack.  Survivors also include her grandchildren, Krystal, Amanda, Taylor, Brianna, Amber, and Randy: and her great-grandchildren.  Her daughter, Lynnea; her mother, Aunno; her father, James; and her brother, James, preceded her in death.

Genaah will be laid to rest in Sunset Hills Cemetery.  Please join us for her home-going celebration on March 16, 2013 at Connect Church, 549 Pronghorn Trail in Bozeman, beginning at 11:00 a.m.

Memorials in Genaah’s name may be made to Bozeman Deaconess Cancer Center, 931 Highland Blvd, Ste. 3130, Bozeman, MT  59715; Rocky Mountain Hospice, 301 Edelweiss Dr., Bozeman, MT  59718; or to Connect Church.
