Bonnie Riddell

May 24, 1940 ~ August 07, 2017

Bonnie Jean (Anderson) Riddell, 77, born to Edward and Dorothy (Peslin) Anderson on May 24, 1940, in Oakland, California, passed away August 7, 2017, in Bozeman, Montana.  She graduated from Oakland High School in 1958.

Bonnie married Dennis Riddell on June 7, 1958 in Carmel, California, where they would trek to on their anniversary for many years to see “their tree”. Camping at Big Basin was also a family affair.

Together with their daughter, Denise, they lived in Hayward and South Lake Tahoe, California. After their daughter’s graduation, they moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Bonnie became involved with different types of crafts and home projects. Dennis’ job relocated to Bozeman in 1981 and this is where they have called home since.

Bonnie was a bookkeeper with various medical offices (back when the bookkeeper also did double duty as the Dr.’s Assistant) and was at the reception desk at Barton Hospital in South Lake Tahoe. In Bozeman she worked for various retail stores and was also the Secretary at Hope Chapel Church for many years. She loved to garden and can her harvest in the fall, and she made the best Bread and Butter Pickles. After retirement Bonnie and Dennis began full-time RVing, traveling to different locations and working as camp hosts in Oregon, Montana, and Arizona. They would winter in Arizona and spend most summers in Bozeman. They moved back to Bozeman year-round several years ago as health issued started to occur.

Bonnie is survived by her husband of 59 years, Dennis; daughter, Denise (Joe) Stahl; sister, Darlene (John) Nichols; brothers-in-law, Jan Riddell and Billy (Patty) Riddell; grandchildren, Jesi (Andy Stroyan) Stahl and Joey (Jenna) Stahl; great-grandchildren, Cayden and Alysa Stroyan, and Georgia, JE, Delia, and Tao Stahl; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her.

Those who went before her are her parents, Ed and Dorothy Anderson, and her sister-in-law, Rosie Riddell.

I suspect the thunder storms we hear will be Bonnie and Rosie bowling up a storm.

At Bonnie’s request, no services will be held.
