Anne Karp, 104, of Bozeman, Montana left this earthly life and entered her heavenly home on Monday, August 7, 2017. Anne was born on March 30, 1913 in Muskegon, Michigan to Menko and Anna (Danhof) Dykman. Early in her childhood she moved to Anceney, Montana with her family where she grew up and attended school.

She married Sam Karp on August 14, 1933. They lived and farmed in Harrison and together they had two children, Patricia and John.  In 1944, they moved to the Manhattan, Montana area. Anne had various jobs which included working at the Treasure Chest and the Stylon in downtown Bozeman. In 1968 they moved to California.  During their time in California she worked as a housekeeper which suited her as she loved cleaning and keeping her house neat and well decorated. While in California they made many dear friends and stayed in touch over the years. After returning to the Gallatin Valley in 1980 they began working as camp hosts for the Gallatin National Forest Service until their retirement in 1984. She was a member of the Bozeman Christian Reformed Church.  Anne enjoyed baking, cooking, serving coffee and goodies to whomever came through the door whether they wanted it or not, and she especially enjoyed it when the grandkids came to visit.

She is survived by her son, John (Nedra) Karp; sister, Henrietta Grinwis; sisters-in-law, Betty Dykman and Maxine Dykman; grandchildren, Bruce (Susan) Ligtenberg, Brent (Patty) Ligtenberg, Brian (Julie) Ligtenberg, Denise (Tom) Kimm, Vincent (Grace) Karp, Justin (Jolyn) Karp, Rob Karp, Carrie Pittman, Windy (Wade) Richards, Sam (Angelica) Karp, Tasha (Duke) Clinton, and Meta Peterson; along with 25 great-grandchildren and 26 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam; daughter, Patricia Ligtenberg; son-in-law, Lloyd Ligtenberg; three great-grandsons; sister, Douwina Van Dyke; and brothers, Joe, John, and Menko Dykman.

A special thank you to the staff at the Gallatin County Rest Home for the care given to our mother and grandmother.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 13 at Dokken-Nelson Funeral Service.  Interment will be at Churchill Cemetery at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, August 14, followed by a Memorial Service at Bozeman Christian Reformed Church, 324 North 5th Ave, at 11:00 A.M.

Memorials can be made to Love In the Name of Christ, 141 Discovery Dr, Bozeman, MT 59771.

"I just wanted to thank you for all your help with my dad's funeral.  Planning a funeral can be very stressful, but you took such care that we were never confused or stressed about anything.  It was so easy to call and talk with you and ask questions.  You presented all the options to us clearly to let us decide about things, and then you made them happen at the service so we didn't have to do anything.  You are so very good at your job."
