   Location: St. James Episcopal Church

Thomas Clyde Halpin passed away at his home on May 19, 2018.  He was born August 15, 1935, to Clyde and Adeline (Carlevatto) Halpin in Williston, ND, where he lived until age two. Tom grew up in Billings, MT, where he attended Billings Central and played on the 1952 State Championship Football team.  After graduating from high school in 1953, Tom went to Montana State College, now Montana State University, where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He graduated in 1957 with a degree in Industrial Engineering. After graduation, Tom worked as an Industrial Engineer/Methods Analyst for Boeing Airline Company until he was drafted in 1958.  He spent two years in the Army at White Sands Missile Range in Texas and received an Honorable Discharge in 1960. He was then hired by Armco Steel as a Sales Engineer in Billings, MT.

Evelyn Joan Bogaert Halpin passed away at her home on July 23, 2018.  She was born August 14, 1937 to Alphonse C. and Catherine (Pfaff) Bogaert in Staten Island, NY.  Evelyn graduated from St. Joseph Hill Academy in 1955 and then attended Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, VA.  Evelyn graduated from Katherine Gibbs School of Secretarial & Executive Training in 1958. She loved to travel and spent two and a half months in Europe and then in Bermuda the following year. Evelyn worked for two years in a shipping firm in New York City. She then applied and was accepted into Stewardess training with Northwest Airlines in March 1960.

Tom and Evelyn met in May 1960, were engaged in July 1960, and were married in Billings, MT, on January 7, 1961. They were married for 57 years. Tom worked for Armco Steel until May 1967 when the family moved to Bozeman, MT, where he started Van Dyke-Halpin Irrigation. He owned the business from 1967 to 1977 and went on to own Halpin-Ward Irrigation from 1978 to 1982. He also worked as a Ranch Estimator and Sales representative for Cook-Bell Real Estate. Evelyn was a homemaker while their three children were young and worked part-time while they were in school. Tom and Evelyn were very involved with the Bozeman swim team from 1973 to 1983 while their children were members and were involved in AAU swimming on a statewide level. Evelyn worked for two-and-a-half years as the church secretary for St. James Episcopal Church from 1985 to 1988.

In 1988, Tom and Evelyn decided to move to Seattle, WA, where Tom worked for a construction company doing site development around the Seattle area. Evelyn attended the Seattle School of Travel and worked as a travel agent until 1995. Upon returning to Bozeman in 1995, Tom worked at Big Sky Resort as the Head of Maintenance until retiring and Evelyn worked for twelve-and-a-half years as the church secretary for First Presbyterian Church until retiring. Tom and Evelyn were active members at St. James Episcopal Church where Tom was member of the Vestry and served as a Sr. Warden. Evelyn was an active member of PEO Chapter AG in Bozeman.
