Marie Sinefta (Sapacianu) Kozubski

Marie (Sapacianu) Kozubski, age 87, of Belgrade, Montana, passed away from natural causes on November 4, 2017. Marie was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on April 1, 1930.  Her parents were George T. Sapacianu, from Romania and Emily A. (Mackan) Sapacianu.

She married Walter Kozubski of New York City, New York, on October 25, 1952, and they recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.

Marie graduated from West Sr. High School, Cleveland, Ohio, in 1948. Marie had a passion for music and was an accomplished pianist studying at Cleveland City College, Fenn College, and Cleveland State University.  Her greatest joy was watching her students blossom in their musical abilities.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Romanian Orthodox Church, Cleveland, Ohio, and attended St. Anthony Orthodox Church in Bozeman, Montana.

For the last 30 years Walter and Marie resided within the Belgrade Community. She volunteered at the Bozeman Community Food Co-op, the Soil Conservation Office, and the Belgrade Community Library.

Marie is survived by her husband, Mr. Walter Kozubski; their two daughters, Jane Polmanteer of Bozeman, Montana, and Diana Kraus of Cleveland, Ohio.  Mrs. Kozubski is also survived by one brother, George Sapacianu and his wife Jane; and her sister, Emily Ann, both of Ohio; grandson, Nicholas Kraus of Ohio; and granddaughter, Janica Flaherty of California. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Sapacianu; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Simion Mackan; uncle, Emil Mackan; and grandson, Christopher Kraus.

There will be a memorial service for Marie at 6:40 p.m. on Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at St. Anthony Orthodox Church, 66 St. Anthony Way, Bozeman, Montana. In lieu of flowers, please make a kind donation in Marie’s name to St. Anthony Orthodox Church.

"All of us want to express our gratitude for the way you thought ahead of us and eased the process of planning at this hard time.  So many of the fine touches you added were just right.  You made us feel we were the only ones on your itinerary and had all the time in the world to deal with us."
